Author Day at Perry Elementary School and the Children’s Author Festival

I had such fun at Perry Elementary School! The kids were fantastic and had such great questions about what it’s like to be an author. They also got to learn how to make their own Superbeetles!

A huge thank you to librarian Clare Shweyk for all her help!

The Children’s Author Festival at Huntington Beach Library in the afternoon was very busy with eager kids! Had a great time and overall, it was such a wonderful day. Can’t wait for next year!

Author Day at The Hebrew Academy OC

I had so much fun at The Hebrew Academy Orange County yesterday! The kids were awesome and full of questions. A big thank you to Michelle, Claudia, and the rest of the staff for the warm welcome!

I got to talk about beetles, Taiwan, and writing. I’m positive there were many budding writers in the group!

Then I got to spend the afternoon at the Children’s Author Festival at the Huntington Beach Library. It’s always a fun time talking to kids, parents, and other writers. Can’t wait for next year!

Author Day and Children’s Author Festival in Huntington Beach

What a fantastic day! I had so much fun participating in Author Day at Hope View Elementary School. Look what I was greeted with first thing:

The students made me an awesome banner! I love it!

I talked about being a writer and things I wish I knew before I started writing. The kids were funny, smart, and so sweet. I had such a blast! Each class received their own pet Superbeetle.

Then it was the Children’s Author Festival in the afternoon at the Huntington Beach Public Library.

It was great to meet other children’s authors, like Caroline Hatton. Her books are gorgeously illustrated and she has a beetle book too!

Thank you, Friends of the Children’s Huntington Beach Public Library and Hope View Elementary School! What a great day!

Once Upon A Storybook recap

I had a blast reading SUPERBEETLE at my favorite children’s bookstore Once Upon a Storybook in Tustin. I think even the kids had fun! I showed them where Taiwan is on a map and shared a few cool beetle facts. Then we made our own Superbeetles and I got to sign the store’s author wall!

A fun way to spend a morning and I can’t wait to do it again!
